Super Nail Bros. Cause is a surprisingly decent fan game based on Nintendo's Super Boom Bros. series, taking the near inspiration from Melee.

Unused Music/Sounds

How To Play

Found in music/menu, Howtoplay.ogg is the song from the How To Play section in the original Super Boom Bros. Information technology was obviously intended for a "how to play" cutscene present in each of the Boom Bros. games, which this game lacks. The controls are cocky-explanatory, though.

Suspension the Team!

What appears to be a well-hidden inside joke of some sort. In fighter/hand, this odd sound file lays there with the title snd_crazy_death_unused. This file has in fact cipher to do with Crazy Paw, merely rather the Melee announcer. It sounds poorly recorded, as if from the Melee Audio Examination.

Announcer Calls

Hmmm...

To do:
Upload these. In that location's fashion likewise many to convert and upload in i sitting.

There are way as well many of these.

  • nar_adventure.wav, an unused announcer clip of him saying "Hazard!", which probably meant that there was going to exist an Take chances Mode at some bespeak.
  • Another clip has him saying "Race to the Cease", which suggests that a "Race to the Finish" stage (similar in Melee) was going to exist implemented in Archetype Mode. Afterward returning in v9.1.
  • There'southward 1 for him saying "wins", which in the N64 iteration was used in the afterwards-match results screen of a Squad Boxing ("Red/Blue/Green Team wins!") and is used by default in Ultimate ("[Character] wins!").
  • Vox clip of the Announcer saying "Male monarch of the Ring", which goes unused in previous builds. The idea itself was added in v9.1.
  • A file called TEST.wav of the journalist saying "I". This is a longer version of nar_1.wav.
  • Some other unused journalist telephone call is him maxim "Fighting Sprite Team" (which is referring to a part in classic mode that references the original Nail game'southward "Fighting Polygon Squad" and Blast 4's "Fighting Mii Team"). The last version replaces it with "Multi-Man Crusade".
  • There are actually two Mr. Game & Lookout man calls, named mgrw.wav and mgrw1.wav. The second i doesn't repeat.

Unplayable Graphic symbol Calls

  • Like Melee, an unused call for Principal Manus is present. Unlike Melee, an unused call for Crazy Hand is also present.
  • At that place'due south also i of him proverb "Gengar", which isn't a character in the game. Strangely, this doesn't have an echo effect. He is a Pokémon that appears out of a Poké Ball, however.
  • One of him maxim "Samurai Goroh", from F-Nada. Like Gengar, information technology doesn't repeat.
  • Grey Fox from the Metal Gear serial has an unused announcer call. Information technology doesn't repeat.
  • Ike from Fire Emblem who showed up in Brawl, no echo.
  • Calls for Pokémon Trainer, Squirtle, and Ivysaur can be found. All were Pokémon characters who showed upwardly in Ball...although oddly, Charizard is not nowadays.
  • King K. Rool, a Ass Kong Country/Land dominate who eventually debuted in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. No echo.
  • There is a call for Nightmare. This phone call would be for either the last boss from Kirby's Adventure and its remake, or a main character of the Soul Calibur series.
  • Paper Mario. Perhaps a moveset swap for Mario.
  • Pit, from Kid Icarus.
  • A call for Scizor, a Pokémon, tin can exist establish.
  • Super Star Gang, possibly referring to the helpers in Kirby Super Star.
  • Calls for Zelda and Sheik can be found. Both Legend of Zelda characters.
  • Simon from Castlevania has his own phone call, who also eventually debuted in Super Boom Bros. Ultimate.
  • There is a phone call for Sir Kibble. This would probably become with Super Star Gang.
  • A call for Sub-Zippo, from the Mortal Kombat series, is besides present. Allow'due south simply say he's too frozen to fight.
  • The main character from Joy Mech Fight, Sukapon, also has a phone call. He eventually debuted in v0.ix.four equally a cloak-and-dagger fighter.
  • At that place is one of him maxim "Cloud", most likely referring to Cloud Strife of Last Fantasy VII, who eventually debuted in Nail iv. No echo.
  • "Hector", most probable the Fire Emblem character. Purpose unknown, no echo.
  • "Isaac", probably the Golden Sun graphic symbol. Purpose unknown.
  • "King Dedede", a Kirby boss. No echo.

Unused Grapheme Names

Located in the names.txt file in the data directory is the names of every character in the game, including some unused ones. Hither'south a list of the characters in the file that are not in the game:

  • Zelda
  • Pit
  • Diddy Kong
  • Pokémon Trainer
  • Ike
  • King Dedede
  • Roy
  • Child Link (probably referring to Immature Link, a graphic symbol from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Fourth dimension who showed up in Melee)
  • Wolf
  • Isaac
  • King K. Rool
  • Skull Kid
  • Night Samus
  • Prince Fluff
  • Rival Trainer
  • Black Shadow
  • Sukapon
  • Paper Mario
  • Vaati
  • Deoxys
  • Earthworm Jim
  • Dr. Robotnik
  • Protoman
  • Banjo
  • Simon
  • Black Mage
  • Viewtiful Joe
  • Sub-Zero
  • Lloyd
  • Aero

The purpose of this list is unknown, only it could have been a list to keep rail of an early graphic symbol roster.

Unused Stage Content

Onett

As of v0.8, Onett was removed from the Phase Select screen. However, the code withal exists and tin can exist accessed with the Random button. The stage was removed completely in v0.8.four.

Watch out for reckless drivers!

...However a preview file for it can be found. It's unlike any other preview picture currently in the game. Nearly notably, it uses a circular outline rather than a rectangular one, This is a leftover from v0.seven.

Rainbow Road

Ssbc pc Rainbow.gif

Earlier demos propose that Rainbow Road from Mario Kart 64 was going to exist a playable phase. The most current demos merely leave one bit of it backside: a stage icon. Theres also his music from Mario Kart 64 in v0.1.1-v0.2.3(Unreleased).

Unused Asteroid Field Groundwork

SSBC-unusedasteriod.png

In the Asteroid Field folder, in that location's ASTEROIDbgunused that is conspicuously unused. Sadly, it's somehow concluded up in either the icon and/or stage preview for every demo thus far.

Template

Creating in the Box but Thinking out of it!

This file is nowadays in template.png with the other stage previews. Given its file name, this was used probably every bit a early on template for the stage previews in v0.three-v0.5.1.

Instructions

There is a file named Instructions.txt in the phase previews folder, which references the template file.

add template as new layer place images beneath template font Myriad Pro Bold size 50, all caps shear text y -50 layer boundary size larger and centered glossy no shadow outline ii place text heart (ten) and layer border at bottom (y) layer New Layer lightness all saturation none layer Grow-me effulgence none contrast all Desaturate Grow-me subtitle text 25 shear to fit, center above text zach effect shadow offset 0,0 text above highlight identify series logo at acme right, layer borders at paradigm corner

Random

Rando.bat

This seems to exist an alternate random select preview. The final version uses a GIF that resembles TV static, whereas this i is a PNG file. It as well uses the same circular outline as the Onett preview. This is also a leftover from v0.vii.

Other Unused Graphics

Open-Source

ForumsbannerSSBC.png

This epitome left with the title screen files advise that at one point, Crusade was going to be open-source...or...something. A larger version of the logo past itself also exists.

Unused Smash Cube Icon

SSBCPC Smashcube icon.png

Patently meant equally a developer in-joke, this graphic was first seen in v0.8.4. A light-green version of this prototype was used as the icon for v0.9Test.

Unused Loading Screen

What a load!

In that location is an old loading screen hidden in the title screen folder. Interestingly, this not only shows an unused version of the logo, but it also has the "Squad Phalcon" logo, which was quickly dismissed.

Placeholder Cursors

Hand-SBBC.png

Crudely-drawn placeholder cursors for the character select screen.

Unused Particular Sprites

A few unused particular sprites have sneaked their fashion into the game.

Saucepan

Oh, paperweight!
A bucket which seems to be a custom sprite based off the one in Mario & Wario, nowadays in items/bucket.gif.

Item Box

There'd better not be a Blue Shell in there...
A custom item box sprite (which resembles those of Mario Kart Super Circuit), nowadays in items/itembox.gif. Its intended usage is pretty obvious.

Warp Star

Great for cruising and gliding. No real flaws.
Present in items/warpstar.gif. In the Smash Bros. games, players can ride i to crash land into opponents.

PSD Files

At that place are many unused PSD (Adobe Photoshop native file format) files within the game's files, presumably forgotten leftovers of the evolution process.

Fourside

The Fourside preview motion-picture show exists in a PSD file in add-on to its PNG analogue. Oddly, its file name is dreamprev.psd, which would seem more fitting for a Kirby stage than anything from EarthBound.

Planet Zebes

A PSD file also exists in the folder for Planet Zebes named fg.psd, which is an exact copy of fg.png, found in the same binder.

Unused Challenger Approaching

(insert siren sound here)

This file, present in bill of fare\bg under the name SSBCUnlockfighter.png, suggests that characters were originally going to be unlocked the traditional way (past completing the requirements and then defeating the unlocked grapheme in a one-stock Vs. match). However, in the terminal version a notification appears saying the player has unlocked the character, and said grapheme is added to the roster, rendering this screen useless. This was only used in Marth's Reveal for v0.viii.four

Series list

Inside the folder of series icons is a txt file named "LISTOFSERIES". This was probably used as a reference guide during development. Strangely, the Assassin'southward Creed listing is not aligned properly in the text file.

Super Smash Bros. ssb Melee Special special Subspace Emissary sse Mario mario Donkey Kong dk Yoshi yoshi Wario wario F-Zero fzero Legend of Zelda zelda Tingle tingle Pokemon pokemon Kirby kirby Metroid metroid Starfox starfox Mother (EarthBound) mother Fire Emblem fe Kid Icarus icarus Punch-Out!! pnchout Golden Lord's day gsun Ice Climber ic Airship Fighter bfight Duck Hunt dhunt Game & Watch gw Mach Passenger mrider Pikmin pikmin ROB rob Creature Crossing dnmori Sin and Punishment sin Excitebike excite Sonic the Hedgehog sonic Ristar ristar Mega Man megaman Street Fighter sf Metal Gear mg Mortal Kombat mk Contra contra Bomberman bomber Assassin'southward Creed ac Pac-Man pacman Dragon Brawl Z dbz Portal portal Tetris tetris Q*Bert qbert Banjo Kazooie banjo Ace Chaser chaser Klonoa klonoa Tekken tekken Last Fight ffight

Unused Series Icons

These unused icons may be hinting at hereafter characters and/or stages.

SSBCBanjo.png
A Jiggy from Banjo-Kazooie.

SSBCContra.png
The letter "C" every bit it appears on most title screens of the Contra serial.

SSBCDnmori.png
An icon used in the Animal Crossing series for furniture items.

SSBCGsun.png
A sun. Well-nigh probable Golden Sun-related.

SSBCIcarus.png
A sprite version of the Kid Icarus series icon used in Brawl.

SSBCMk.png
The Mortal Kombat logo.

The Smash is a lie.
The Aperture Science logo from the Portal serial.

SSBCRe.png
The Umbrella Corporation symbol from the Resident Evil series.

SSBCAc.png
The emblem from the Assassin's Creed serial.

SSBCSse.png
The head of a Mite from Brawl. The icon itself was used to represent Subspace Emissary as a whole. Since there's no fashion like that here, it goes unused.

SSBCBfight.png
Two balloons, representing the Balloon Fight series.
